Terms of Service
The agreement between us.
These terms govern your use of Astaris. They cover what the service is, what it costs, what you may do with the questions, and what happens if things go wrong.
Version 1.2 · Last updated 14 October 2026 · Effective 14 October 2026
1. This agreement
Astaris is operated by Harshit Tewari, a sole proprietor carrying on business as “Astaris”, having its principal place of business at L-6/45, Sector L, Aliganj, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226024. In these terms, we and Astaris mean that proprietor, and you means the person using the service.
By creating an account or using Astaris you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to them, do not use the service.
2. Who may use Astaris
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract under Indian law. Paid subscriptions are offered in India only; we do not currently sell to users outside India.
3. Your account
- One account per person. Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, sold, rented or transferred.
- Give us accurate information, and keep your sign-in credentials to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
- Tell us promptly at support@astaris.in if you believe someone else has access to your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
4. What the service is
Astaris provides practice questions, timed tests and mocks, worked solutions, post-test analysis, concept lessons, and progress features such as experience points, streaks and a leaderboard. Which features exist, and what they do, changes as the product develops.
The free tier includes one test and one analysis. Any further use requires a subscription. These limits are enforced by our servers and attempting to circumvent them is a breach of section 7.
We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the service. Where a change materially reduces what a paid subscription gives you, we will tell you before it takes effect.
5. Subscription and payment
- Introductory price — Rs 499 per month for the first 1,000 paying subscribers.
- Standard price — Rs 999 per month once those 1,000 introductory subscriptions have been taken.
- The introductory price is introductory for you, not for a moment in time. If you subscribe while introductory places remain, Rs 499 per month stays your renewal price for as long as your subscription remains continuously active. If you cancel and later resubscribe, you pay whatever price is then on offer.
- Prices are in Indian Rupees.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Razorpay and renew automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your access continues to the end of the month you have already paid for.
- Each billing period runs 30 days from the date of payment, and the next payment is requested at the end of it.
- Refunds.Once a month's payment has been taken we do not refund it, and cancelling part-way through does not shorten or reduce that month. We do return anything charged in error — duplicates, wrong amounts, or payments taken after a cancellation — to the original payment method. The full position is in our cancellation and refund policy.
- CAT 2026 Pass — Rs 799, paid once. It gives Pro on CAT until the end of 30 November 2026 (Indian time) and then ends by itself: it is not a subscription, nothing renews and nothing needs cancelling. If you already have Pro, the pass extends it to that date and never shortens it. It is sold until 28 November 2026 and is not refunded once paid; anything charged in error is returned as described above. It cannot be bought while a monthly subscription is still renewing.
- Failed payments. If a renewal fails we retry for 24 hours. If it has not succeeded by then the subscription is cancelled and the account returns to the free tier. Nothing you have already done is lost, and you may subscribe again at the price current on that day.
5a. The free tier, and what stays free
Every account includes one free test and one free analysis, so you can judge the product before paying for it.
Beyond that, the paywall applies only to creating new things— new tests, new evaluations and new analysis. It never applies to what you have already done. Your past attempts, marks, analyses, saved questions, XP and streak history stay visible to you permanently and at no cost, whether or not you have ever subscribed and whether or not a subscription has lapsed.
5b. Referral rewards
When someone joins with your referral code or link and buys Pro, we pay you ₹50. Every 5th such referral — your 5th, 10th, 15th and so on, counted across all time — pays ₹100 instead.
- A referral counts once per person, when it is final: after their first payment, and once the 14 days in which they may change their referral code have passed. Cancelling and re-joining does not count again. A payment that is refunded does not count.
- Rewards are paid by UPI at the start of each month, to the UPI ID you give us on your Account page. Your Account page shows what you have earned.
- Rewards are for people in India aged 18 or over. Referring yourself, using fake or duplicate accounts, or any other abuse is not allowed; we may withhold rewards and close accounts involved.
- If you post your link publicly, say that you earn a reward from it (for example with “#referral”), as Indian advertising rules require.
- We may change the reward amounts for future referrals. A referral that has already counted is always paid at the amount shown when it counted. If you delete your account, rewards not yet paid are lost.
6. Our content, and what you may do with it
Every question, answer option, worked solution, reading passage, data set, chart, lesson, topic taxonomy and analysis output on Astaris is original work created by or for Astaris, as is the software, the interface design, the name and the logo. All of it is owned by Astaris (or licensed to us) and protected under the Copyright Act, 1957 and other applicable laws. Each question carries an internal provenance record — the batch it was authored in, who reviewed it and when — which is our evidence of authorship.
Your licence. While your account is in good standing we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use our content for your own exam preparation. That is the whole of the licence; nothing else is granted, expressly or by implication.
You may not, in whole or in part:
- copy, reproduce, republish, post, distribute, transmit, sell, sub-licence, rent or otherwise make our content available to anyone else — including in messaging groups, channels, forums, cloud drives, note-sharing sites, coaching material or any other platform;
- screenshot, photograph, transcribe or re-type questions or solutions for the purpose of sharing or distributing them;
- scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or use any automated means to extract content or answer keys;
- use our content to train, fine-tune, evaluate or benchmark any machine-learning model;
- create adapted, translated, paraphrased or otherwise derivative versions of our questions or solutions. A reworded question is still a copy of that question; and
- remove, obscure or alter any attribution, watermark or provenance marking.
How we enforce this. We monitor for redistribution of our content. Where we find it we will, at our discretion and without further notice: issue takedown notices to the hosting platform or intermediary, including under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021; suspend or terminate the accounts involved without refund; and pursue civil and criminal remedies available under the Copyright Act, 1957 and other law. We may recover the costs of doing so.
Your content. If you send us an issue report, suggestion or other feedback, you grant us an unrestricted, royalty-free right to use it to improve the service, with no obligation to you.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- interfere with test timers, scoring, entitlement limits or any other server-side control, or attempt to obtain answer keys other than by answering a question;
- use bots, scripts or automated clients against the service, or create accounts in bulk;
- abuse the referral scheme, including by creating accounts for people who do not exist;
- probe, scan or test the security of the service, except by responsible disclosure to support@astaris.in, which we welcome;
- reverse engineer or decompile the service except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable by law; or
- use Astaris for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms other users.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms. For serious breaches — redistribution of content, tampering with scoring, referral fraud — we may do so immediately and without refund.
8. Scores, percentiles and results
Percentile figures and readiness indicators shown by Astaris are estimates, generated from our own data. They are not published by any examination body and they are not a prediction of your actual result. Astaris does not guarantee any examination outcome, score, percentile or admission.
9. No affiliation with any exam body
Astaris is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to the Indian Institutes of Management or any other examination body or conducting authority. Exam names are used only to describe what our material prepares you for, and remain the property of their respective owners.
10. Availability
We aim to keep Astaris available and working, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages and faults happen. Where an outage prevents you from using a paid feature for a material period, contact us and we will deal with it fairly.
11. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as it is and as available, and we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of opportunity, admission, or examination outcome. Our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. This cap does not apply to liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Fair use
Astaris is licensed to one person. Fair use means using it the way a single candidate preparing for an exam would.
These are the lines:
- One account, one person. Do not share your login, sell access, or use one subscription to coach a group.
- Do not copy the question bank. Questions, passages, solutions and analysis are for your own preparation. Do not reproduce, republish, sell, or circulate them — including in study groups, messaging channels, or as part of another course.
- Do not scrape. No bots, crawlers, scripts or automated extraction of questions or any other content. Requesting content faster than a person could read it is not use, it is copying.
- Do not attack the service.No probing for vulnerabilities, circumventing paywalls or usage limits, tampering with scoring or XP, or interfering with anyone else's use.
- Do not misrepresent yourself. One person, one identity, real details at signup.
If you think you have found a security flaw, please tell us at support@astaris.in rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Astaris and delete your account at any time, from your account page. Deleting your account is described in our privacy policy.
We may suspend or terminate an account. Because that is a serious step for someone mid-preparation, these are the specific grounds:
- Sharing or reselling access — credentials used by more than one person, or access sold or sublicensed.
- Copying or redistributing content — reproducing questions, passages or solutions outside your own preparation.
- Automated extraction — scraping, bulk downloading, or any programmatic harvesting of content.
- Manipulating the platform — tampering with scores, attempts, XP, streaks, leaderboards or referral rewards, including self-referral and fake accounts created to earn rewards.
- Security or abuse— attacking the service, attempting unauthorised access to other users' data, or harassing other users or staff.
- Payment fraud — fraudulent payment instruments, or chargebacks raised instead of contacting us.
- Unlawful use — using Astaris to break the law.
Where the problem is fixable and not deliberate, we will normally warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. We reserve immediate suspension for cases where warning first would defeat the point — active attacks, large-scale content extraction, or payment fraud.
If we terminate your account for breach, no refund is due. If we withdraw the service entirely, or terminate you without cause, we refund the unused portion of the period you have paid for. Sections 6, 8, 11 and 14 survive termination.
14. Privacy
How we handle your personal data — including the internal learner model built from your attempts — is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Lucknow have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them.
16. Grievance officer and contact
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, complaints about content or use of the service may be sent to our Grievance Officer:

For anything else, write to support@astaris.in.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Astaris after that means you accept the updated terms.
